OPERATION: S.Man Reverval Attempt #23

REPORT:

On the 24th of #### ####, Agent B187 was assigned to Washington with the object of observation and possible retrieval of Entity S.Man. Operator Kraken was B187’s support.
B187 was issued with the current standard equipment for S.Man retrieval, a level 4 defence package, $500,000 in cash, 10 video cameras and 5 audio recorders. After assessing the evidence provided by Agent B187, this has been deemed inadequate and the standard will be upgraded within the next year.

B187 seems to have spent most of his mission time within the forward base he established. Clean up crews found the base in a state of disrepair, cryptic writings covered the walls in what appears to be animal blood. Drawings of what seems to be the entity in question also cover the walls of the base. This is standard behaviour for an individual under S.Mans’ influences, it is theorised that these drawings and ramblings are the product of an insane mind attempting to break free of the hold the entity has over it.

Upon review of the video footage, combined with the report emails and evidence we have received, we are able to piece together a picture of what occurred in the months B187 was in WI.

Within the first two months, B187 seems to have been progressing in his objective perfectly. He had interviewed several of the nearby town’s people, and established himself as a trusted member of the community. At some point, it is not clear when, B187 found the suspected site of an S.Man attack. Upon investigation B187 discovered what he described as a “feeding area” containing carcasses of both animal and human. Attempts to locate this site have proven ineffective.

It is around this point that B187 found himself to be a target of the entity. In a show of incredible bravery and training, he took this opportunity to record various observations and findings. However this was to be his penultimate communication with ####. B187 did not send or respond to any further attempts at communication.

There are several questions still unanswered concerning B187’s expedition. In the reports, he makes several references to a package containing biological samples of S.Man and the feeding area. However as of yet we have not received such a package. This is most unusual as he expressly states he sent it to one of our sorting offices, in which case we should have received it a day after he mailed it. At this point we are to assume he merely forgot, or was unable to mail it before succumbing to S.Man.

The only other issue is the cameras. Despite multiple references to using the cameras to prove the Malto theory, we are unable to locate the film for the indoor cameras. It is possible B187 destroyed them, or they were otherwise lost in the intervening period between his disappearance, and ####’s intervention.

Unfortunately, without these two incredible relics we have only second hand reports of S.Man and have missed out on an opportunity to massively further our understanding of the entity. However, all is not lost, this excursion has taught us more about how to properly equip agents and what steps to take should a Class 2 or above encounter occurs. With this in mind I am labelling the operation a success.

And here we are, nearly at the end of the KRAKEN file. I'm not really sure where to go next. I may just get on with the main story and just write it as I go. this was an interesting experiment and one I believe will pay off in the long run, but we shall see.

There is one more update to this story that I'll post in time, then I'll start posting whatever it is I decide to do.
